Proudly serving New Canaan, CT

Really happy with the overall experience. Great communication, reliable service, and excellent attention to detail!

Steve is professional, timely and always there. His guys are the same. I couldn’t be happier with the work and my roof!!!

H&J was recommended by a friend -- thank you friend! I booked two jobs with H&J this month. Firstly I had my roof shingles replaced at my house. I also had attic re-framing, fascia repair and full roof reshingling and gutters redone due to tree damage at my mom's. Great experience working with H&J. Both homes were done in less than 12 days from deposit, and while they were reframing my mom's attic they did my roof in 2 days (Owner Steve recommended the exact shingles that I wanted in the first place fyi) then they did the finished roofing and gutter work at my mom's. Only reason it even took 12 days was because it rained several days. Steve was very quick with his quotes and his communication was excellent: he made no promises he didn't keep. Workers were very diligent in clean-up afterward, did a great job. Had no issue with the insurance company with his repair quote either and both quotes I found reasonable. They're licensed, etc. I do professional reviews for Amazon Vine, and I can say about H&J what I do for my 5-star reviews there: Highly Recommended!

I would highly recommend H&J Roofing. The price of my new roof was very fair, the men did excellent work and finished the roof in two days rather than three. They worked from 8 AM until 7:30 PM. They cleaned up every little tiny piece of roofing material or residue after the first day and put all the furniture back onto the decks and cleaned up perfectly after the job was finished.

H&J Roofing did an excellent job on our roof! My husband and I are weary of contractors and we spoke with 10 different roofers before getting Steve Dumas’s name from a friend. He was easy to work with and answered all of our many questions. He did not nickel and dime us and the price we were told at starting was very close to what we ended with. He also was reasonably priced compared to some of the other estimates we got. His guys are extremely hardworking and meticulous. Alan is also a mason and was able to do this beautiful crown at the top of our chimney to prevent leaking. Steve and the team are honest and they do great work! I would hire them again.

Steve & team were great. Very responsive, efficient, knowledgable, and they made sure that the job was done right. Would highly recommend.

Steve and team were fantastic with our new roof job. Clear communicators, hard workers, and ultimately a great-looking new roof! We couldn't be happier. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience with H&J Roofing. They came out to assess my roof quickly and gave an honest assessment of what needed to be done immediately vs long term. The job was scheduled timely. The team arrived in the morning, were very professional, worked hard and completed the job quickly. Just as important, they were clean. All garden beds were covered, nothing was destroyed, and they did not leave any garbage behind. Would use H&J Roofing again.

Best Roofers in CT!! Much appreciated & would highly recommend! Thanks again

Steve and his team were absolutely wonderful. He came out for an estimate promptly in a busy season, accomodated my schedule, and his crew did an excellent job on my quiet old roof, with replacing the gutters as well. The landscaping was left in a perfect condition. My neighbor used his help as well. Highly recommended

I am very happy with H&J Roofing. Steve Dumas uses excellent materials and has a top notch crew. They came on time and worked diligently until the job was completed. Excellent clean up. Great communication, detailed proposal and contract. They do masonry as well. I do recommend H&J Roofing! AND- H&J Roofing does masonry too! Jody Alan, his brother and crew just took down the old chimney and built a new one! A new roof and new chimney!! Wow!

H&J Roofing solved my big leak problem! The team was fast, courteous and did excellent work. I would highly recommend Steve Dumas and his company to anyone who needs a roof repair or replacement. Steve and his team are genuine professionals!

H & J Roofing did great, thorough work on our roof replacement. They were even able to assess that a weak spot in our weather protection was our chimney, and their masonry team rebuilt it brick by brick. They worked with our schedule and their services were competitively priced, highly recommend!

We had a roof in bad shape and Steve was able to come out quickly and inspect our roof. We reached out to him because he did our neighbors roof and he was very happy. He clearly knew his stuff - not just roofing materials, but he also recommended that we move an exhaust fan closer to our air conditioner. This showed that he was focused on how the roof and house interacted and not just the roof and plywood. He was able to do the job in a short window as well during our vacation which I appreciated despite a busy schedule. The clean up on the yard was spotless and the roof looks great. He did forget to move and install a new fan but came back to remedy the problem and install the correct fan in the right place. I appreciated that Steve fixed the error quickly and completed the job as discussed. I would definitely recommend Steve and his very efficient and professional team.

Steve and his crew at H&J Roofing were a pleasure to do business with. Dealing with Steve was a comfortable experience. We never felt we were being pressured. He answered all our questions and his estimate was what we were expecting it to be. His crew arrived at the exact time they were supposed to be at our home. They were very professional and did an outstanding job. When the job was finished, they did an excellent job of cleaning up the yard. We would highly recommend Steve and his guys at H&J Roofing. We will definitely call him back for any future jobs. Dom & Cindy T.

We're very happy with Steve and his crew and the work done! Steve was easy to work with and very responsive. The crew did an excellent job and finished on time and on budget. The crew was very respectful and conscientious during the project. The clean-up was done thoroughly. We highly recommend H& J Roofing.

H&J recently replaced my roof in New Canaan. We did an extensive bidding process and concluded that Steve and team were the most competent while also fair in their pricing. Luckily we were right! Steve was very communicative during the whole process, they got it done in great time and made sure to extensively clean up the site. They also didn't throw in any random extras/ they didn't nickel and dime us. I highly recommend them.

Steve and his team are very professional. He redid our roof and all our gutters, his workmanship is of a high quality and it was a pleasure to work with him and his team. We can highly recommend him.
